I was SO excited when I got the call to work with the Staker family again. And even more excited to be able to help them document “Papa” Staker’s retirement from a long career as an American Airlines pilot. Unfortunately, the original plan of getting on the plane to shoot some pics and seeing Cal off with a water canon salute didn’t go quite as planned (mechanical issues with the plane, etc. etc.). But on the upside the kids all looked so stinkin’ cute in their caps and were such troopers! Since the morning at the airport was cut short we went back to the Staker house for an impromptu mini cousin shoot (aka cute kid overload). Even though the morning didn’t go quite as planned, it’s always one of my favorite things to do to hang with the Stakers! Hoping it was still a memorable experience for all of you because it certainly was for me!
I have been SO excited to get to editing this shoot. It couldn’t have been a more perfect day…
I always look forward to shooting the Barbeys and per usual, they did not disappoint. Katrina was looking way to beautiful at 8 months pregnant. Briana was not only adorable but sweet, silly, playful… so pretty much a photographer’s dream. And Mike, well that’s a handsome dude, right!? 😉 Seriously, I couldn’t be happier to be the Barbey family photographer. And the icing on the cake is that I get to see everyone (plus baby sister!!!) next week for a Newborn shoot! Yea!!! Thinking of all of you in this very exciting week!
So happy to get to shoot the beautiful and oh so sweet Ryan family on a warm summer day! The last time we shot we weren’t even able to step outdoors for a single shot so this was a welcome change. Caleigh just turned one (and would you have guessed had just celebrated with a big Hawaiian Luau themed party!?) and was such a trooper seeing as how she was just getting over a nasty cold. And Conner was a sweetheart as always, I mean those dimples, come on! Thanks guys for letting me come back for round two, and hey, we finally got the pup shot!!! 🙂
Love, love, love the pictures!!! Thank you Liza!
Who ever came up with the phrase ‘you should never mix business with pleasure’ was most definitely not a photographer. Although my sister in law Annie and her now husband Peter hired an amazing photographer for their Kohler, Wisconsin wedding I was still lucky enough to step in for a few events 🙂 Since Annie and Peter’s ceremony and reception were at Whistling Straits it was important to them to also have a church ceremony. So I packed up my camera and all my kids 😉 A couple of weeks later, once in Kohler for the wedding weekend I was able to step in to capture their lovely rehearsal and dinner. Driving home from Kohler on Sunday, it felt like a a very long (and good!) chapter was ending. It seems like we’ve been celebrating this wedding forever, now we all need to find something else to look forward to 😉
Congratulations Annie and Peter! Thank you for letting my family and I be a part of your beautiful wedding, we all loved every minute of it!
A few favorites from the festivities…

If I gave my shoots titles, this one would without a doubt be, She Got it From her Mama 😉 When I first walked in and got my first peek at this sleeping beauty, I had an OMG moment. Maeve is for real Cara’s mini me. And lucky for Maeve her mama is gorgeous. No matter the gender, Cara and Dave make some seriously beautiful babies!
[…] a gorgeous day. Actually this is the second time we’ve been blessed with great weather. For Maeve’s newborn shoot we were lucky enough to be able to snap some pics outside too. Back to the present… Brady was as […]
