When I really started to get back into photography (after my twin hiatus) the Winklers were living in Shanghai and Hong Kong! We’d been chatting on Facebook at the time and had been planning this shoot way back when. Well they finally made their way back to the states and got settled into a beautiful home in my dream neighborhood and alas it was finally time to shoot. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that we did this whole shoot right in their little community, picture perfect and yet so meaningful. Now don’t get me wrong, shooting little tiny ones is always fun and their spontaneity makes it exciting but shooting older (I realize “older” is a relative term, but with my own kids being 4, 4 and 1.5, the Winkler kids felt all kinds of mature 😉 ) kids is so great. Especially these ones! And I can honestly say I have never had such real smiles and giggles come so naturally, it was amazing! Seriously, all I had to say was ‘everyone look at each other’ and they would all burst into laughter. Although pictures often tell a different story, family photos can often be stressful…but this shoot was anything but. Aubrey had the model poses down, Colin was full of energy and the biggest smiles and Quentin, I mean look at that face! I am so glad you guys are back because I’m going to look forward to this shoot every year. Thank you guys for an awesome afternoon and showing me around your beautiful neighborhood!
I have been lucky enough to have been shooting the Battaglia family for the last couple of years. Well, this year I had the pleasure of shooting not just their adorable fivesome (a shoot I so look forward to every Fall) but also Beth’s whole side of the family. Extended family shoots are always FUN and CRAZY and I was especially looking forward to this one. Well, the Meyer clan did not disappoint! So, let me just rattle off my Top Five tidbits from this shoot…
- John and Peg are seriously two of the sweetest people I have ever met
- Sweet little Molly asking me if she should teach all of the other kids how to pose and “cheese” as well as she does
- Keira and Claire, models in the making, enough said
- Too cool for school little Mallory, throwing in the towel and walking off into the sunset all on her own when she decided she was done taking pictures! lol!
- This awesome new photo spot! Thanks Beth!
Good news is that the Barbeys are gracing my blog again! Bad news is that this officially wraps up a triple session package with one of my favorite families. First, beautiful Briana turned one! Then, beautiful mama was ready to pop so I was lucky enough to be asked back for a maternity session 🙂 And now, sweet, perfect baby Harper has arrived!! And when I say perfect, I am not exaggerating… When I walked in and saw that precious little face, my first words were, ‘OMG, how is she SO perfect!?’ At five days old most newborns are still looking a little ‘rough’ shall we say? You know, maybe a little asymmetrical, sporting a scratch here or there from those still unclipped nails, perhaps a few milia… But not Harper! She was born camera ready! Thank you Katrina and Mike for letting me back for the trifecta! And Mike, I promise I’ll stay away for awhile now 😉
First let me say, I am STILL in the process of updating my website, so my apologies for any “under construction” pages you may come across. Hopefully I will have it ready to go soon but in the meantime always check out my blog because there’s tons of current work to be seen there.
Now, a couple of reminders as we inch closer to the crazy Fall photo season…
- Unless otherwise noted your images will be delivered via a downloadable gallery rather than in DVD form.
- The turnaround time on your edited photos is 4-5 weeks. There is always a chance it could be less, but I cannot guarantee sooner than 4 weeks. In the meantime, a “sneak peek” from your photo shoot will be posted to my blog. If we’re Facebook friends, I’ll tag you in a link to that blog post.
- I will only be taking on a certain amount of shoots per month in order to guarantee my turnaround time. So if you are wanting family photos this Fall, book now if you haven’t already! Weekend spots are going fast!!
- If you are planning to book a session this Fall with the intentions of using the photos for Holiday cards your shoot will need to take place before October 31st! The majority of my November will be spent editing. Due to heavy workload and a family vacation I will be offering an EXTREMELY LIMITED amount of November sessions. Even if you happen to snag one of those, it is highly unlikely your images will be returned in time to create Holiday cards. If you’re looking to use your photos for Holiday cards, I suggest scheduling in August and September. Keep in mind that every year a handful of shoots have to be rescheduled due to weather, so if your shoot is October 30th and a rainy day postpones it, you will not get your photos back in time for cards.
- If you are looking for a Newborn photo shoot, it is best to book late in your second trimester or early in your third. Newborn shoots are the lengthiest and most involved, so if you wait until your due date or when the baby is born it is likely I won’t have availability. We can book your shoot in advance based on your due date and adjust as necessary. Like I said, I am only taking on a certain number of shoots per month. So when you book your newborn shoot, although we can’t nail down an exact date, I will block out space for you.
Every time I shoot with this beautiful family I think to myself, ‘it can’t get any better than this.’ Then along comes our next shoot and it’s as if the seas part and boom, it’s AMAZING! We went back to Independence Grove for cutie Candence’s One Year pics. I still can’t believe it was just a little over a year ago that we hit up this same spot for Gina’s Maternity Photos (yep, those are the same TOMS from the maternity shoot that little Cadence is sportin’ now ;)). Well, once again we had the most beautiful day… but better yet, this time around we had Cadence there to add to the awesomeness. I hadn’t seen Cadence since we shot Cadence’s Newborn Photos last August. Let me tell you, she was wide eyed and bushy tailed back then and she still is now!! When she was just days old we were all ‘go to sleep baby girl!!’ but this time around her spunk and energy was AMAZING! I’m pretty sure I kept her going well into her usual nap time and she was a blast the whole time. Thank you Gina and Jory for coming back for more. I look so forward to every shoot with you guys!
These are amazing-I don’t know how you do it with a little girl that doesn’t stop moving!! You captured her personality and all the love and laughter that she has brought into our lives. Thank you so much!! I can’t wait to see the rest!
