The Heigls

Meet my newest beautiful niece, Quinn! One could argue that I’m biased but seriously, how perfect is she? I mean, she’s a pistol that doesn’t sleep 😮 but she sure is a beauty! Annie and Peter welcomed Quinn in early September and we were all so anxious to find out if she would be a Quinn or a (insert Annie and Peter’s favorite boy name). Well, really, I knew all along she’d be a girl 😉 but some people were really curious 😛 Anywho.. she’s adorable and I was so anxious to get downtown to shoot these photos. And I do believe baby girl set a record for my longest newborn shoot EVA 😛 but Oh, was it time well spent… I didn’t know if we could top this duo’s engagement shoot, one of my favorite shoots to date, but Quinn did it!

Thanks guys for hosting me for a long morning/afternoon. AND thank you for adding another Spinazze cousin to the gang. Five and counting, who’s next!? 😉

The Arnolds

This little girl already knows how to keep everyone on their toes! Tenley wasn’t due to arrive until October but instead decided to make her grand entrance in early September. And so I had to do a bit of finagling to squeeze her into the schedule so much earlier than expected. The least she could have done was slept “like a baby” for us but instead she had a restless night on the eve of our shoot (which worked out great for mom and dad 😉 ) and then decided she was still just not quite ready to nap until after I left 😛 It’s a good thing you’re so cute little girl!!! At a couple of weeks this little beauty already has a mind of her own, Julie and Ashton I can’t wait to see what she has in store for you next!

Thanks guys for hanging out with me all afternoon instead of napping. Can’t wait to see you all for Tenley’s next milestone shoot!!!

The Winklers

This shoot has been on the books since the last click of my camera on their 2015 shoot. It is SO awesome to get to shoot families year after year, catch up, see who has less teeth, who’s sprouted four inches, etc. 😉 The Winklers are no exception. I can’t believe how much these adorable (not so little) kids have grown up over the past year. It’s easy to turn a blind eye to the passing of time in your own house but WHOA, shoots like these can be an eye opener. Last year, Colin was the toothless one and now it’s Quentin. And just like that Aubrey is like 16!? (I mean she’s not but it felt that way, like where did this gorgeous young woman come from!?) Laura and Patrick, it was a pleasure AGAIN. I hope we get to keep doing this year after year, you know until next year when they’re all off at college 😛

But seriously, another top notch Winkler shoot in the books. Thanks guys for keeping me around 😉

The Fischers

Shooting friends is always a treat. And upon editing such a shoot, it’s a double treat when your kids look over your shoulder and say “hey, those are MY friends!!” After one reschedule due to unseasonably HOT September weather I finally made it out with the Fischers and it was fab! I mean, these kids are so adorable (just ask my Sam) and Chad and Lisa are smokin’ so I shouldn’t have expected any less 😉 Family shoots with an excess of two children are bound to get a little chaotic but the Fischers rolled with the punches. Lisa and Chad came prepared with snacks and bribes and that is really all that I can ask for! 😛 The kids even hung in there for a quick trip back to the house for a few pics back on the front porch and it turned out to be SO worth it.

Thanks Fischers for a great shoot! Here’s hoping you still think this is your best shoot yet 😉

The Petermanns

Talk about a BIG, BEAUTIFUL family! Ya know, every photo shoot is different, and you never really know what you’re in for til you get going. This extended family shoot was a whole other animal-LITERALLY… in broad daylight a skunk showed up on the scene hoping for a cameo??? Aside from that… things went pretty darn smoothly seeing as how I was shooting my biggest group to date, with SO MANY littles!! Although I do my best to hide it, all photo shoots involving small children are somewhat chaotic. Having said that, when you shoot a large family, it’s sort of a “controlled chaos” if you will. My aesthetic is typically a bit more candid but with larger groups you really just have to wrangle em’ in and pose em’ 😉 . I mean, if I just let 11 small children run free around Busse Woods I can pretty much guarantee I wouldn’t have ever had all 11 in the same shot (not to mention chances are good at least one would’ve been skunked) !?!? 😛

Anywho… shooting all of these peeps was a pleasure. Big families are the best, so much love going around, and with the Petermanns it truly shows! Thanks guys for letting me be a small part of your big, beautiful world!
